General Update 1.00 – Organization & Optimization | Unreal Engine

Update! - November 2025

This is a general organization and standardization update across Iron Edge products for Unreal Engine. The goal is to make the internal structure clearer, more modular, more efficient, and fully prepared for future expansions.


In this update, we introduce a new system of Main Categories (A–G) and Numbered Subcategories, bringing a more logical and easy-to-navigate hierarchy — for both artists and developers.


New Category and Subcategory Structure

To improve the organization of Attachments and GunParts, we have created a fully standardized system consisting of:


Main Categories

Each weapon family now has its own dedicated category identified by a letter:

A_Picatinny, B_5E, C_C390, D_Pistol, E_Shotgun, F_AK, G_BoltAction. These letter-based groups make it easy to immediately identify each family and keep the project modular and scalable.


Numbered Subcategories

Inside every main category, all attachment and gun part types now use a numeric prefix (e.g., 1. Handguard, 2. MountRail, 3. Barrel…).This ensures:

  • Consistent folder ordering

  • Faster navigation

  • Identical standards across all IE products

  • Full preparation for new weapon families and future expansions


What changes in practice

Previously, each pack had its own folder logic. Now, all Iron Edge products follow the exact same structure, making it easier to:

  • Locate files

  • Replace components

  • Reuse elements

  • Integrate pieces across different weapon packs

Material Master CWOS e CustomColor

In this update, the Iron Edge material system has been completely reworked.

The master materials are now divided into two optimized versions:

  • M_MasterCWOS

  • M_MasterCustomColor

Each one has been redesigned to deliver better performance, improved visual consistency, and several bug fixes related to material instances used in previous versions.


Purpose and Use Cases

  • CWOS is now exclusive to the Iron Edge Collection, maintaining the premium visual standard across all Collection products.

  • CustomColor is dedicated to the Pro packages, providing full flexibility for color customization and unique visual identity — ideal for projects that require stylistic freedom.


Changes in the Pro Edition

Starting with this update, the Pro packages now include only:

  • Barebone

  • Full

Intermediate variants have been removed to simplify the structure, avoid unnecessary complexity, and ensure a more efficient workflow for both users and developers.
